Catnip Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account information

We collect information used to create and manage your account, including your email address, display name, username, avatar, authentication provider, user ID, and login information from email sign-in, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In.

Content and activity

Catnip lets users create, edit, remix, publish, view, comment on, like, follow, block, report, and share AI-generated interactive content. We may collect prompts, chat messages, text blocks, uploaded images, uploaded videos, uploaded or recorded audio, drafts, generated content, published posts, comments, replies, likes, follows, reports, blocklist actions, feedback, and share activity.

Media and device permissions

When you choose to use related features, Catnip may access your photo library, camera, microphone, speech input, local files, or saved media so you can upload assets, record audio, convert speech to text, create or edit content, save exported media, or share generated content. These permissions are used only when needed for the relevant feature.

Device, notification, and technical data

We collect technical information such as device ID, app version, build configuration, operating system, system language, region, timezone, device platform, carrier region, IP-related network information, push notification tokens, deep link data, app launch data, usage events, performance data, logs, crash diagnostics, error reports, and customer support attachments.

Analytics, attribution, and diagnostics

We use analytics, attribution, and diagnostics to understand app usage, route deep links, measure feature performance, debug crashes and errors, and improve reliability. This may include product interaction events, screen or feature events, device identifiers, account identifiers when you are signed in, crash data, logs, performance metrics, and attribution or deep link information.

Information we do not collect in the current iOS app

The current iOS app does not provide paid subscriptions or in-app payment features, and we do not collect payment card numbers or payment account details through the iOS app. If paid features are introduced later, this Policy and any required store disclosures will be updated.

We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission in the current iOS app, and we do not use the Apple advertising identifier in the app code reviewed for this Policy. Some third-party services may still process technical identifiers or attribution data as described in this Policy and in their own policies.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide, maintain, and improve Catnip;
• authenticate users and manage accounts;
• create, edit, remix, preview, publish, recommend, and share AI-generated content;
• operate Feed, profile, comments, likes, follows, notifications, reports, and blocklist features;
• save drafts, uploads, generated assets, and exported media;
• send and route push notifications;
• process deep links and attribution links;
• measure app usage and feature performance;
• debug crashes, errors, and reliability issues;
• respond to feedback and support requests;
• detect abuse, investigate reports, enforce our Terms, and protect the community.

3. Public Content and Community Features

Your public profile, username, avatar, published creations, remixes, comments, likes, follows, and other public interactions may be visible to other users. Content you publish or share may be viewed, saved, reshared, or interacted with by others.

4. Third-Party Services

Catnip uses third-party services and SDKs to operate the current app, including authentication, backend services, push notifications, analytics, attribution, crash reporting, diagnostics, user feedback, AI/content processing, storage, and sharing integrations.

These may include Apple, Google, Firebase, Supabase, PostHog, Airbridge, Sentry, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, and related platform services. These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

The current iOS app includes integrations for services such as Firebase, PostHog, Airbridge, Sentry, Google Sign-In, Supabase, TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram sharing. The current iOS app does not include Stripe or another payment SDK for in-app payment processing.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share information with service providers that help us provide Catnip, including cloud hosting, authentication, database, storage, analytics, attribution, push notification, crash reporting, customer feedback, and content processing providers.

We may also share information when required by law, to protect users or Catnip, to investigate abuse or security issues, to enforce our Terms, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

When you choose to share content to a third-party app or platform, that platform's own privacy policy applies to the information you provide to it.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-app advertising tracking in the current iOS app.

6. Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to provide Catnip, maintain your account, support community and safety features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, debug issues, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.

You may delete your account through the app where available. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups, logs, security records, report records, or where retention is required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.

7. Your Choices

You can update certain profile information in the app. You can manage permissions such as photos, camera, microphone, speech recognition, and notifications through your device settings.

You can also delete content where the app provides that option, block users, report content, sign out, or request account deletion.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

Catnip is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child without required consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International Processing

Catnip and its service providers may process information in countries or regions other than where you live.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Services or another appropriate method.
